Prior to establishing the Rare Bone Disease Patient Network, representatives of a number of Rare Bone Disease Patient Groups met in Washington D.C, April 6, 2006 at the offices of the National Osteoporosis Foundation to explore areas of common concern and possible opportunities for working together. The Board of the United States Bone and Joint Decade endorsed the formation of the Rare Bone Disease Patient Network (RBN).
September 15-18, 2006
The Network participated at the annual meeting of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research with a display and materials. Founding members of the Network took part distributing information on their organizations and seeking input from scientists and physicians at the meeting.
